What counts as a personalized parenting book?

Two quite different things get called personalized.

Personalized presentation. The book names your child, lists the people in your family, carries your dedication and may include illustrations made for your edition. The guidance itself is the same for every family.

Personalized advice. The book claims to change its recommendations for one particular child. That is a much bigger promise. No book can examine your child, so if a product says its advice is tailored, it is fair to ask how, from what information, and who checked it.

A personalized parenting book is also different from a personalized storybook. A storybook is written for the child to hear. A parenting book is written for the adults, and the personal details are there so the book feels like it belongs to that family.

How does FOUNDATION work?

FOUNDATION is our book. It is a personalized, illustrated parenting book that runs from before birth through eighteen, arranged in eleven stages: before birth, 0–3 months, 3–6 months, 6–9 months, 9–12 months, 1–2 years, 2–3 years, 3–5 years, 5–8 years, 8–12 years and 12–18 years.

What gets personalized?

Your child's name appears on the cover and in parts of the guidance. Everyone you include is listed by name on an Our family page, next to an optional dedication. The family you describe can include supported siblings, parents or caregivers, and optional loved ones.

How do the illustration choices work?

You choose one of two illustration styles, and both are included:

• A fictional illustrated family. No photos are needed. The book uses a ready-made illustrated family together with your names and dedication.
• Illustrations made with your photos as references. If you upload photos, an AI image model uses them as references, and the team checks the results before delivery. The results are artistic interpretations in the book's illustrated style, not photographic portraits. At least one parent or caregiver needs a usable photo, and if two parents or caregivers are included, both do. A child's photo is optional.

What formats does it come in?

You receive two files: an illustrated PDF for reading on screen and an EPUB edition for e-reader apps. You keep both and read them on your own devices, so you need a device or app that opens PDF and EPUB files. E-reader apps may lay out the EPUB differently from the PDF.

A printed copy, an app, a subscription and ongoing updates are not included. The files arrive by email as private download links. Each link works for 30 days, and you can ask for new links for 12 months after delivery, so save both files when they arrive.

What does ordering look like?

You add the names and people to include, choose the illustration style, add photos if you chose that style, and write a dedication if you want one. Before you order, check the names, the people included, the photos, the illustration choice and the dedication, because the book is made from the details you approve.

After you order, the team checks that any photos will make good illustrations and that the family details are right, and emails you if anything is needed. The aim is to deliver within 48 hours after your payment is confirmed and your details are complete and usable. You can cancel for a full refund at any time before production begins. Because each book is made for one family, changing your mind after delivery does not by itself qualify for a refund.

• Readers who want deep coverage of one topic. A single book spanning eighteen years gives each subject less room than a book devoted to it.

Questions people ask

Is the advice in a personalized parenting book written for my child?

Usually not, and in FOUNDATION it is not. The guidance is the same in every edition. What changes is the name, the family listed, the dedication and the illustration style.

Do I have to upload family photos?

No. You can choose the fictional illustrated family, and no photos are needed. Both styles are included.

Is FOUNDATION medical advice?

This guide assumes a generally healthy, full-term child, and it’s general education, not medical care tailored to yours.

Prematurity, growth concerns, a disability, illness, allergy, a feeding difficulty or medication can change that plan. If one applies, the book says to ask your child's pediatrician or specialist what changes for your child. It also says research hasn't found a parenting formula that guarantees a particular outcome.
